GOTS is recognised as the most important standard for sustainable production of garments and textile products made of natural fibres from organic farming such as organic cotton.
The Global Organic Textile Standard has been developed by leading international organisations in organic farming in order to ensure that the consumer is provided with organic textile products obtained in compliance with strict environmental and social criteria applied at all levels of the production, from the harvesting of natural fibres to the subsequent manufacturing phases, up to labelling of the finished product.
The OCS applies to all textile manufacturing processes beginning ginning, then spinning and the following textile ennobling processes.
All textile products may be certified according to the OCS standard if they are composed of at least 5% of certified organic natural fibres.

Global Recycle Standard (GRS) is promoted by Textile Exchange, one of the most important no-profit organization that promotes international responsible and sustainable development in the textile industry.
With this standard, Textile Exchange acknowledges the crucial importance of recycling for the growth of a sustainable production and consumption model; it aims to encourage the reduction of resource consumption (virgin raw materials, water and energy) and to increase the quality of recycled products.
